Sea Star Swim School, located in Hendersonville, Tennessee, offers the most comprehensive and personalized aquatic programming in the greater Nashville area. Owners Ron and Mary Chlasta are dedicated to providing the highest quality aquatic curriculum, which includes programs for all age groups from infants to adults.

Ron Chlasta was voted the US Swim Schools Association's (USSSA) Outstanding Swim Teacher of the Year for two consecutive years, 1996 and 1997. He also served a three year term on the USSSA Board of Directors.Mary Chlasta is an elementary school teacher, credentialed in both California and Tennessee, and has taught swimming for over 15 years. Together, they believe that learning to swim should be an exciting and positive accomplishment for any child. As no two students are identical, lessons are tailored to fit the special needs and skills of each student.

Our Philosophy

Sea Star's systematic approach to teaching swimming allows one skill to be built on top of the next as a means to develop the complete swimmer. Our own core values for aquatic education include teaching individuals to swim: (a) for survival, (b) for competency, (c) for recreation, and (d) for competition. Our first and foremost commitment is to WATER SAFETY. Each teacher at Sea Star is trained and certified to teach swimming, and our "firm but gentle" approach allows our students to learn and master skills at a comfortable and confident pace.
